Don has varied and unique experiences as an outdoorsman. His fields of expertise cover hunting both rifle and archery as well as fresh and saltwater fishing. As Chartermaster and owner of Norstar Sport Charters, Don organized saltwater sport fishing and scuba excursions off California and Mexican shores. Saltwater fishing highlights include 1985 record for 2-day catch, 348 Albacore, 392 lb Black Sea Bass, 189 lb Big Eye Tuna.

In 1999 Don joined the Arizona Boat Store as the first member of their State Javelin Team. With the assistance of Jon Andrews, Sales Manager who was also Team Director, a well-rounded group of anglers promoting Stratos-Javelin bass boats and OMC marine products was assembled. Over the 1999-2000 Season The Arizona Boat Store became the number one Javelin and Evinrude dealer in the nation.

Don has appeared on the American Fishing Television Show, Good Morning Arizona Television Newsmagazine and the Fishing with Johnny Johnson Television Program in addition to conducting/participating in bass fishing seminars for Wal-Mart, K-Mart and various sporting goods stores in the Southwestern Region.

If there is anything Don loves more than fishing, it has to be kids and fishing. A few of the events he has worked to promote and participated in are; Valley Big Brother and Sister Annual Fish-A-Ree, Make A Wish Foundation, C.A.S.T., Pathway to Fishing and Cast for Kids. These programs have been developed for children including the physically and mentally challenged.

The main thrust of Don’s efforts is to expose his sponsors’ products and services to a serious marketplace while promoting good sportsmanship. His passion for the outdoors, competition and high performance vehicles coupled with his extensive professional sales and marketing experience has made him a natural for the highly competitive world of bass fishing and performance bass boats.

In addition to tournament fishing Don currently hosts The "Shake Rattle & Troll" Radio program on ESPN Radio 860, co hosts Outdoors Arizona on the Fox Sports Network every Sunday morning and is a featured guest on The Sportsmen's Heritage series, also airing on the Fox Sports Network. With a strong background in hunting as well as fishing, Don prepares and presents seminars twice a month in addition to speaking engagements and frequent appearances as a banquet host.
